Security researchers find over a dozen iPhone apps linked to Golduck malware

Security researchers say they have found more than a dozen iPhone applications in secret communication with a server associated with Golduck, a historically Android-based malware program that infects the most popular classic gaming applications. The malware has been known for over a year after being discovered by Appthority, infecting classic and retro games on Google Play, incorporating backdoor code allowing malicious payloads to be pushed silently on the device. At the time, more than 10 million users were affected by the malware, which allowed hackers to execute malicious commands with the highest privileges, such as sending premium SMS text messages
