Amazon partners with New York colleges on a cloud computing job training program

A day after Amazon's detailed plans to fund computer courses in high schools in the New York area, with the goal of expanding its technology portfolio for its new QG2 site in Queens, the company announced this morning a second educational initiative under which New York City and state colleges. Amazon claims to work with LaGuardia Community College (LAGCC), City University of New York (CUNY), and the State University of New York (SUNY) to create a cloud computing certificate program for New York students. The goal will be to prepare students for entry-level technical roles – such as at Amazon
