China’s Didi teams up with state-owned BAIC to deepen electric vehicle push

Didi Chuxing, The largest Chinese start-up, which boasts more than 550 million registered users, is focusing more and more on electric vehicles after announcing the creation of a joint venture with BAIC, a state-owned auto giant. "Jingju" – as this company calls it – is a partnership between Didi and Beijing Electric Vehicle, a subsidiary of BAIC, which will develop "next-generation connected car systems" using fleet management, AI and other technologies, according to an announcement published today.
