Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s artist-collaboration platform HitRecord raises $6.4M

In the early 2000s, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt was frustrated by the roles that were offered to him. Instead of playing in critically acclaimed independent films, he has been described as "the funny kid on television" because of such roles as Tommy's "3rd Rock from the Sun". So, like everyone who has evolved alongside the Internet, he created a website where he could design, produce, and share his work.
