According to a new report by the Wall Street Journal, US federal prosecutors are preparing a criminal charge against Huawei, who stole trade secrets. The report, which quotes sources familiar with the indictment, specifically mentions Huawei's actions around a T-Mobile smartphone test tool called "Tappy". The report notes that the ongoing investigation is sufficiently advanced that an indictment may soon arrive. This is not the first time we hear about Tappy. In 2014, T-Mobile sued Huawei for allegedly gaining access to a company-owned lab located outside Seattle and having photographed and attempted to steal parts of the robotic smartphone test
